Jesus always made it clear that “He was here on earth” to do the WILL of His Father.  In John 4:34 we read, “Jesus said to them,My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.’”  In John 5:30 we read,  "I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” And in John 6:38 we read, "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” And, in John and many other verses in The Gospels, Jesus Christ testifies that He is from The Father, One with the Father, and His Purpose is to do The Father’s Will.

For us today, (in this New Testament Era – This Church Age in which we live) we can find all things – everything we need in Jesus Christ! Yes, I realize that this is quite a gigantic statement. However, it is true! We read in God’s Word that it pleased God

(The Father) to put all things in “His Son – JESUS CHRIST.”  We read in Ephesians 1:22  “And He (God The Father) put all things in subjection under His (Jesus Christ) feet” (The feet of Jesus Christ). Also in Matthew 11:27 we read, "All things have been handed over to Me (to Jesus Christ) by My Father” (God the Father). In John 3:35 we read, "The Father loves the Son and  has given all things into His hand. And, in John 3:31-33 we read  "He who comes from above is above all, he who is of the earth is from the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.” Clearly, God The Father has entrusted all things into the Hands of Jesus Christ, His Son in this current age (or Era) of The Church. It is critical to our daily Christian living to recognize (and accept) that in this New Testament Time in which we live, (The “Church  Age") EVERYTHING,  (INDEED  ALL  THINGS)  ARE TO  BE FOUND  IN JESUS CHRIST AND  IN  HIM  ALONE!

Many songs and much “so-called Theological Teaching" of today miss THE MAIN POINT THAT ALL THINGS (EVERYTHING) IS IN JESUS CHRIST. The mistake of “FOCUSING ON THE GIFTS, OR THE BLESSINGS, OR THE HEALING" AS COMING FROM JESUS OR FROM GOD, THE FATHER IS MISSING THE MAIN POINT! THE MAIN POINT IS THAT EVERYTHING IS IN JESUS CHRIST! HE IS IN YOU AND ME AND YOU AND I ARE IN HIM! The entire New Testament tells us that Jesus Christ is OUR HEAD and THE WORKS THAT PLEASE GOD ARE HOSE THAT GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT DOES IN US AND THROUGH US – THEY ARE NOT JUST OUR WORKS! INSTEAD, THESE WORKS ARE THE WILL OF THE FATHER GIVEN IN AND THROUGH THE SON (JESUS CHRIST). WE FIND EVERYTHING WE NEED IN JESUS CHRIST. THESE NEEDS ARE MET IN AND THROUGH JESUS CHRIST AS OUR HEAD MUCH MORE SO THAN COMING TO US FROM JESUS CHRIST! THESE WORKS OF GOD OUR FATHER (WHICH ARE ALWAYS THE WILL OF GOD OUR FATHER) ARE PERFORMED IN US AND THROUGH US BY GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO DWELLS WITHIN US!

It is interesting to note that the Scriptures tell us that Jesus will ultimately hand everything back to God, The Father.   When He has completed all things He was “Commissioned” to do by God, His Father; He will present it all (everything) back to His Father as A COMPLETED WORK. We read of this in 1 Corinthians 15:21-28, (21) For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. (22) For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. (23) But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at His coming, (24) then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. (25) For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet.  (NASU)

SPECIAL  NOTE:

What we commonly call The  “Gifts” of The Holy Spirit are really the working of the Will of Jesus Christ within us, on us, and through us by The Holy Spirit living within us!  (Remember, the Will of Jesus Christ is always to do The Will of The Father.)  In John 16:14-15   we read these Words of Jesus,  (14) "He  (The Holy Spirit)  will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. (15) "All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.” (NASU)  In Matthew 11:27 we read these Words of Jesus,

" All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father  except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”  (NASU)  In John 3:35 Jesus said,   "The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.”  (NASU)    In John 5:30 Jesus make it very clear that HIS Purpose is to do the Will of HIS  FATHER,   " I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” (NASU)  Also, in John 10:37-38 Jesus testified that His Purpose was to do The FATHER’S WORKS.   " If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; (38) but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father."  (NASU)

SCRIPTURES:

John 14:10-11 (10) "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.  (11) "Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. “  (NASU)   John 14:31  ” but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.”  (NASU)  John 16:13-15  (13) "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. (14) "He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.  (15) " All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.”  (NASU)  Matthew 11:27 " All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father ; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”  (NASU) Luke 10:22  " All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him."  (NASU) John 3:35 "The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.”  (NASU)

John 5:19-23 Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them,  (19) "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.  (20) " For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself  is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel. (21) "For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes.  (22) "For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, (23) so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.”  (NASU)  John 5:30 " I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.”  (NASU)  John 5:36 "But the testimony which I have is greater than the testimony of John; for the works which the Father has given Me to accomplish — the very works that I do — testify about Me, that the Father  has sent Me.”  (NASU)

John 8:28-29  So Jesus said,  (28) "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me. (29) "And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him."  (NASU)

John 10:36-38  (36) do you say of Him, whom the Father  sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, ' I am the Son of God'?  (37) " If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; (38) but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand thatthe Father is in Me, and I in the Father."  (NASU)

John 12:49-50  " For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. (50) "I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me." (NASU)

James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. (NASU) John 3:35 " The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.  (NASU) John 13:3-4

(3) Jesus,  knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come forth from God and was going back to God, (4) got up from supper, and laid aside His garments; and taking a towel, He girded Himself. (NASU) John 16:15 "All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.”  (NASU)  John 17:9-10   (9) " I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; (10)  and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.”   (NASU)  Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?  (NASU) Romans 11:36  For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.   (NASU)

1 Corinthians 3:21-23 (21) So then let no one boast in men. For all things belong to you, (22) whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come; all things belong to you,  (23) and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.  (NASU)

1 Corinthians 8:5-6   (5) For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords,  (6)  yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.  (NASU)

1 Corinthians 15:27-28  (27) For HE HAS PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET. But when He says, "All things are put in subjection," it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him.  (28) When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.  (NASU)

2 Corinthians 5:18-19  (18) Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,  (19) namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.   (NASU)

Ephesians 1:7-12  (7) In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace  (8) which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight  (9) He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him  (10) with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is,  the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth.  In Him  (11) also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,  (12) to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.   (NASU)

Colossians 1:16-20  (16) For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him. (17) He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (18) He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. (19) For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, (20) and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.   (NASU)

Hebrews 1:1-4  (1) God's Final Word in His Son   God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, (2) in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.  (3) And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, (4) having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they. (NASU)

Hebrews 2:6-8  (6) But one has testified somewhere, saying, "WHAT IS MAN, THAT YOU REMEMBER HIM? OR THE SON OF MAN, THAT YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT HIM?  (7) "YOU HAVE MADE HIM FOR A LITTLE WHILE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS; YOU HAVE CROWNED HIM WITH GLORY AND HONOR, AND HAVE APPOINTED HIM OVER THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS;  (8) YOU HAVE PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET." For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.  (NASU)

Hebrews 2:9-10  (9) Jesus Briefly Humbled   But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. (10) For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings.   (NASU)

Hebrews 3:4 (4) For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God. (NASU)

Revelation 4:11  (11) " Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power;  for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created."   (NASU)

Revelation 5:11-14  (11) Angels Exalt the Lamb   Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands,  (12) saying with a loud voice, " Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing." (13) And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, "To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever."  (14) And the four living creatures kept saying, " Amen." And the elders fell down and worshiped.   (NASU)

Revelation 21:5-7 (5) And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true."  (6) Then He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.  (7) "He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.”   (NASU)

SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE, JESUS IS TO PRESENT EVERYTHING BACK TO GOD, THE FATHER

1 Corinthians 15:21-28 (21) For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. (26) The last enemy that will be abolished is death.  (27) For HE  HAS  PUT  ALL THINGS  IN  SUBJECTION  UNDER  HIS  FEET.   But when He says, "All things are put in subjection," it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him.  (28) When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.

(NASU) Holy Spirit

Amen!   Amen!   Amen!
