The past is never pleasant,
For those who won't let go.
But the future holds a treasure,
For all the young and the old.
To all who have a vision,
For all their hopes and their dreams.
The future holds a treasure,
That few men's hearts have seen.
There's beautiful walls of jasper,
And streets that are laid with gold.
A tree of life in that city,
Yes, that's what your future holds.
For all who will trust in the Saviour,
There's goodness and mercy foretold.
And though our past sometimes haunts us,
God's Love's what the future now holds.
